Students Against Destructive Decisions-SADD  (Sponsor: Ricki Dudek) 

Purpose: To promote awareness of and foster healthy decision-making about the dangers of alcohol and other controlled dangerous substances among teenagers. 

Educational Objectives: (1) To inform students about the effects of driving while under the influence of alcohol and other dangerous substances; and (2) to develop thinking and decision-making skills among teenagers. 

Description: Members meet weekly to discuss the dangers of alcohol and other substances and how they effect the body (physically, psychologically, and mentally). Members discuss ideas and strategies to cope with peer-pressure to drive while under the influence. Members sponsor activities to promote safety for all students, especially during holidays, homecoming, sporting events, the prom, and graduation. Members participate in community activities that include the Christmas bazaar, HIV/AIDS Awareness Month, and sponsoring needy families during Thanksgiving and Christmas.
