Mock Trial  (Sponsor: Josh Cartwright & Abbie Moses) 

Purpose: To learn about courtroom procedures and to practice trial and courtroom practices.

Educational Objectives: (1) To enhance student’s knowledge about legal procedures; and (2) to practice these procedures in mock trial simulations.

Description: Members of the club engage in research and evaluation of actual legal cases. Members participate in role-play of mock trial situations and work diligently to prepare for trial simulations. Members prepare questions legal arguments and participate in ongoing practice sessions. A Court Master from the Anne Arundel County Juvenile Justice Systems provides coaching support to prepare students for the mock trials. Members participate in a countywide mock trial competition against teams from other schools in the county.
